Lovecoast Release Debut EP on November 4th, Tour Dates Starting on November 7th

For Immediate Release:October 7, 2014

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR LOVECOAST - 'ONE NIGHT'

(Vancouver, BC) - Vancouver indie pop group Lovecoast are excited to announce the release of their debut EP 'Chasing Tides' on Tuesday, November 4th. Lovecoast will celebrate the release of the EP in style with a string of Western Canadian Tour Dates, starting with a 'Chasing Tides' release show in Vancouver on November 7th. See below for full listing of tour dates.

Lovecoast is a young band with old soul. These young BC artists are making waves show by show, bringing an exciting mix of alternative R&B/soul, jazz and infectious pop to the stage. Lovecoast pulls inspiration from classic legends such as Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald and Marvin Gaye, and applies it to their modern influences, such as Lake Street Dive, Jamie Cullum, Sara Bareilles and Hey Ocean!, to create their unique sound. Squamish locals Scott Verbeek and Danielle Sweeney started Lovecoast in June 2013. Not long after Andrew Fraser and Jesse McNeill joined the group to complete Lovecoast’s sound.

When it came time to record their debut EP, Lovecoast turned to crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and raised over $5000 to put towards the making of their EP. Lovecoast's debut EP 'Chasing Tides' was produced by Juno Nominated producer Tom Dobrzanski of The Zolas (Hey Ocean!, Shad, We Are The City, Said The Whale) at Monarch Studios in Vancouver, BC and it was a collaboration that worked out incredibly well.

"Working with Lovecoast was one of the smoothest sessions I've been a part of," said Dobrzanski. "Everybody was a total pro on their instrument, and Danielle has a one of a kind voice.  I look forward to watching all of their success, and can't wait until we get to work together again."

Lovecoast is a band that proudly wears its heart its sleeve. The band's passion lies in their love for music, artistry, and community, making Lovecoast a must see up and coming band. Don't miss out on your chance to see Lovecoast performing live this November! And look for Lovecoast's debut EP 'Chasing Tides' on iTunes and other fine digital retailers on Tuesday, November 4th. Supersuckers Announce 16-Date Canadian Tour in Support of GET THE HELL

For Immediate Release:October 6, 2014

Watch Supersuckers - "Get The Hell" Video

(Vancouver, BC) -  The "Greatest Rock n’ Roll Band in the World" is coming to Canada! Supersuckers released their ninth studio album GET THE HELL earlier this year (Release Date: January 14) and have been on the road in support of the record for most of 2014, touring across the USA, Australia, Europe, the UK and now Canada. The GET THE HELL tour will touch down in Canada for 16 dates starting on October 22nd in Vancouver, BC. See below for full tour listing.

Supersuckers latest album is a blistering return to their punk rock roots. Featuring 12 new soon-to-be Supersuckers classics, GET THE HELL is a tightly focused sonic assault of big riffs, catchy hooks and raw, balls-to-the-wall rock n’ roll. Recorded at Willie Nelson’s famed Arlyn Studio in Austin, TX and mixed by Dwarves leader Blag Dahlia and Andy Carpenter, GET THE HELL conjures all the attitude of a band in it’s prime, kicking out snarling, anthemic choruses over head-bobbing chord progressions. “Get The Hell”, the opening title track, fires a warning shot across the bow, with singer Eddie Spaghetti offering his road weary wisdom over the menacing groove of recent addition, drummer Captain Von Streicher (of Throw Rag fame). “You wanna hear about the evil and the wicked things/I’d love to tell you, but I can’t because of what it brings”, before finishing the sentiment in true Supersuckers form, “When you’re staring down the mouth of this unruly beast/You might crap your pants or wet ‘em at the very least.”

On the remainder of GET THE HELL, the Supersuckers spin tales of romantic debauchery (“High Tonight”), biblically proportioned excess (“Gluttonous”), hard-boiled obsession (“Something About You”) and the trials and tribulations of being a total fuck up (“Fuck Up”). Never one to shy away from a good (and completely unexpected) cover song, the ‘Suckers exhibit their sonic dominance tackling Gary Glitter’s “Rock On” and soft rocker’s Depeche Mode’s popular “Never Let Me Down Again”.

Since their 1992 Sub Pop debut, the Supersuckers have toured relentlessly, sharing stages around the world with Social Distortion, Bad Religion, The Ramones, Motörhead, Flogging Molly, Butthole Surfers, Reverend Horton Heat, New York Dolls, The Dwarves, White Zombie and Nashville Pussy. They have also recorded with Steve Earle, Eddie Vedder, Kelley Deal (The Breeders) and Willie Nelson, who they also backed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

After rockin' 16-dates across Canada in October and November, Supersuckers will spend the remainder of 2014 on the road in the USA with dates through to December. Look for Supersuckers on tour across Canada starting on October 22nd in Vancouver, BC, and ending on November 10th in Fredericton, NB. For more information, please visit: supersuckers.com

The Supersuckers are: Eddie Spaghetti: Lead vocals/bass, Dan "Thunder" Bolton: Guitar, vocals, "Metal" Marty Chandler: Guitar, vocals, "Captain" Chris VonStreicher: Drums

Saskatoon's Gunner & Smith Hit The Road for Cross-Canada Tour!

For Immediate Release: September 30th, 2014

(Saskatoon, SK) - Saskatoon band Gunner & Smith are excited to announce that they will be hitting the road for one more Canadian Tour this year! The band will be kicking off a string of Western Canadian dates on October 8th in Saskatoon taking the band to Alberta and BC and back, before heading out east for more tour dates in November. See below for full tour schedule.

2014 has proved to be a pretty amazing year so far for Gunner & Smith! The band released their first full-length album 'He Once Was a Good Man'  to much critical acclaim earlier this year (Release Date: February 25) and they've already been on the road for 2 separate tours in support of the album. There have been so many high points for the band in 2014 that lead singer Geoff Smith had a hard time coming up with just one.

"There have definitely been a few highlights," said Smith. "Playing Folk Alliance International in Kansas City was amazing. It was incredible to play outside Canada for the first time and get to be a part of a conference with so much talent represented.  And playing NXNE in Toronto is another highlight. Playing the Great Heart Festival in Bellwoods Park unplugged during NXNE would have to be one of the most fun shows we have gotten to play this year."

Gunner & Smith began as a solo project in 2010 by folk artist Geoff Smith and he released his first EP, 'Letter of Marque', in 2011. Featuring the lithe, lonely swaying sounds of Saskatchewan folk, country and rock, Smith quickly followed up his sparse debut release with his second EP entitled 'Compromise is a Loaded Gun' in August 2012. Gunner & Smith eventually emerged from Smith’s one-man vision and evolved into the multi-member indie country rock ensemble that it is today, traversing the rocky line between post-prairies balladeering and grit-covered rockers.

When it came time to record their first full length album 'He Once Was a Good Man', Gunner & Smith headed to The Avenue Recording Studio with The Deep Dark Woods’ Ryan Boldt. In addition to producing, Boldt also makes several appearances playing on the album. Upon releasing the album in February of this year, Gunner & Smith played a showcase at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City, MO and then embarked on a successful Western Canadian Tour in February and March. The band also released the dark and gritty video for their song 'Towns' to coincide with the tour dates. Gunner & Smith did a string of Eastern Canadian dates in May 2014 and played a showcase at NXNE in Toronto in June. The band plans to begin work on a new album in 2015.

The 13th Annual Music Therapy Ride Raises Over $85,000!

For Immediate Release: September 23, 2014

(Vancouver, BC) - The Music Therapy Ride Committee is pleased to announce that the 13th annual Music Therapy Ride raised over $85,000 - the highest amount raised to date! The 2014 Music Therapy Ride took place on Saturday, September 13th with over 100 riders joining in the police escorted ride from Vancouver to Whistler.

The success of the 2014 Music Therapy Ride comes as a result of thirteen years of dedication, support and generosity.  Since the first ride back in 2001, the Music Therapy Ride has raised close to $800,000 for the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.

"We’ve had a fantastic year. We set a new record for money raised, number of riders, number of Bandwagon visits and the number of hours music therapists were in the field. We’ll have four Bandwagons operational by this time next year. Thanks to all our generous sponsors, riders and the Vancouver Police Motorcycle Drill Team." - Shaw Saltzberg & Patrick Zulinov, Co-chairmen Music Therapy Ride

The money raised from the Music Therapy Ride is used to support the building, maintenance and continued use of mobile recording studios designed specifically for music therapists called Bandwagons. These mobile studios contain recording software, sound processing equipment and a variety of musical instruments. The Music Therapy Ride has funded the creation of 2 Bandwagons thus far. Bandwagon 1 arrived at its permanent residence, the BC Children's Hospital, in July 2011. Created in 2012, Bandwagon 2 provides music therapy programs in the lower mainland of British Columbia, traveling to various institutions for six-week residencies. The funds from this year’s Music Therapy Ride will be used to build Bandwagon 3 and provide continuing financial support for Music Therapists’ services.

The Music Therapy Ride Committee would like to thank The Vancouver Police Motorcycle Drill Team for thirteen years of incredible support. The committee would also like to thank The Road Hammers, The Lion, The Bear and The Fox, The Great Canadian Casino/Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, Garibaldi Lift Co, the local music industry, extensive media partners and the motorcycle community.

Tasman Jude Set To Release Their Debut Full-Length Album 'Green' on October 7th

CANADIAN TOUR DATES STARTING ON SEPTEMBER 27th

Listen to new track 'Every Breath':

For Immediate Release: September 11, 2014

(Vancouver, BC) -  The Canadian reggae infiltration has begun! And Alberta reggae band Tasman Jude are setting the course with the release of their much anticipated debut full-length album 'Green' on October 7th. The band will also be hitting the road in support of the album with a Cross-Canada Tour starting on September 27th. See below for a full listing of tour dates.

Tasman Jude's new album 'Green' is the first in a series of 3 planned concept albums for the band. The 3 album 'Green, Gold, Red' package is meant to encompass the diversity of reggae music with each album taking on a different form of the genre. The first album 'Green' takes on the rootsy, earthy side of reggae. The 2nd album 'Gold' will have a bit more island pop, and the 3rd album 'Red' will be a little more ska/aggresive. These 3 combined albums will provide Tasman Jude's full take on reggae - going back to roots of reggae music which teaches of God, peace, love, joy, truth, freedom, justice, unity and serenity.

Watch Lyric Video for 'Every Breath'

The town of Grande Prairie, Alberta, may seem like the last place you'd find a killer reggae band but that's exactly where Tasman Jude was formed. The band officially started when Al Peterson & Caleb “BraveHart” Hart decided on a whim to climb on stage together back in January 2013. After only 3 improvised songs, they were surrounded by a crowd of people asking where their music could be found and so Tasman Jude (now including Adam Paananen and Derek Wilder) was established.

Less than 3 months after their serendipitous first performance, Tasman Jude released their debut EP 'El Norteño' which quickly rose to #2 on the Canadian iTunes reggae chart. The lead single'Take You Away' won a music video grant from Public Records and continued to win them a larger audience both at home and internationally. Soon after, the band recorded another single 'Family', with Earl Pereira (Wide Mouth Mason & The Steadies). The song received lots of radio airplay and the theme of “Family” truly came to define Tasman Jude. Both in the band and within their community, there is an understanding that love is truly what matters in this world and it is what binds us all.

“We don’t have fans, we have family members,” says lead vocalist Caleb Hart.  “ These people support us, love us and we hope to give them something more than music back."

After Tasman Jude finishes their Canadian Tour in November they plan to keep the momentum going with tours in Australia and the Caribbean (Caleb Hart is originally from Trinidad-Tobago). The band is also giving back with this album. $1 from every 'Green' record sold will be given to Tree Canada which will equal one tree planted for every 4 albums.

Tasman Jude's debut full-length album 'Green' will be available on iTunes and all other digital retailers on October 7th, 2014. Look for the band on their Cross-Canada Tour starting on September 27th. More dates to be announced soon, please visit tasmanjude.com for the most up-to-date tour listings.
