In support of their 4th album 'Port of Morrow' which was released earlier this year, Sony Music Canada recording artists The Shins recently played 2 shows on the West Coast! The indie rockers played The Royal Theatre in Victoria on September 23rd and The Orpheum in Vancouver on September 25th. John Antoniuk Releases His 3rd Album!
It's been four years since the release of Saskatoon singer/songwriter John Antoniuk's (aka Smokekiller) critically acclaimed album '13', but it looks like he's finally back in action and will be returning on September 4th with his long anticipated 3rd full-length album 'Always With You'. Produced by Leeroy Stagger, 'Always With You' is a full album of new material dedicated to John's mother, Marlene, who passed away in October 2010. John will also be hitting the road with The 5 piece Smokekiller Band for a string of Western Canadian dates in support of the album. The tour kicked off in Saskatoon on September 1st and Fritz Media was able to secure some great press hits, including stories with Planet S, The Star Phoenix and Ominocity!
John also performed on CTV Morning Live in Saskatoon and was interviewed on the CTV Noon News! Look for more great stories to come as the tour continues.
The Washboard Union Release Debut Album!
Acclaimed Vancouver band The Washboard Union released their self-titled debut album on June 26th and they're throwing their Album Release Party tonight at The Waldorf Hotel in Vancouver. Known for their incredible live show, The Washboard Union is a 7-piece outlaw bluegrass band that has been described as "a 3 car pile up of Steve Earle, Drive By Truckers and Old Crow Medicine Show". With 4 singers their sound is undeniable. Add to that banjo, mandolin, dojo, harp, guitar, fiddle, drums, and of course, the mighty washboard! Fritz Media has managed to secure some great press for The Washboard Union so far. Leeroy Stagger Releases His 7th Album "Radiant Land"
Leeroy Stagger released his 7th studio album “Radiant Land” on May 15th through Gold Lake Records/Universal Music Canada and he's been on the road with a string of Canadian tour dates in support of the album, since the beginning of May. Now that's some hardcore touring! Stagger recently signed a 2 record deal with Danny Goldberg's Gold Lake Records (The Cranberries, Tom Morello, The Hives) and "Radiant Land" is his first album to be released through Gold Lake. Cara Luft's New Album Darlingford Out June 19th!
It's been 5 years since award-winning singer/songwriter Cara Luft released her critically acclaimed album The Light Fantastic back in 2007. But she hasn't been sitting idle. After plenty of hard work and many years spent on the road touring North America and Europe, Cara Luft is back with her 3rd solo album Darlingford. The album will officially be released in Canada on June 19th but she celebrated a bit early with a hometown Album Launch Party in Winnipeg on Friday, April 13th.
