Me And Mae Release Brand New Single + Announce Holiday Fundraising Show on December 10th

MM_PRHeader.png

Watch/Share 'To Hell With The Devil' Lyric Video:

Vancouver, BC - BC country rockers Me and Mae are ending 2017 with a bang! The band is ending the year ready to blaze new trails with the release of their new single 'To Hell With The Devil'. Click here to watch their cheeky lyric video! Me and Mae will also be playing a holiday fundraising show on December 10th at Gabby's Country Cabaret in Langley with proceeds going to the Ann Davis Transition Society and the Blanket BC Society. See below for full details.

'To Hell With the Devil' is the country anthem that 2017 needs. It's the perfect way to cap off the year and head into 2018 with grin. With the track's playful back and forth between male vocalist Shawn Meehan and female vocalist Caitlin Canning, it's hard not to sing along with Caitlin as she says to her cheating boyfriend, "To hell with the devil, you men are all the same!"

Me and Mae have been a part of the Canadian country music scene for the past four years. Their first single, 'Love Me Leave Me Lonely', which Meehan co-wrote with Carly Rae Jepsen, opened the barn doors for the band and they haven’t closed since. The release of their debut album Off The Rails (Cordova Bay Records) in 2014 was quickly followed by a Nashville tour and performances at events including: Sunfest, Rockin River Country Fest, Big Valley Jamboree, Craven Country Jamboree (now Country Thunder) and more. The band won the Ray McAuley Horizon Award at the BCCMA's in 2014 and were nominated for Group/Duo of the Year in 2016 and 2017, and earlier this year they showcased at NAMM in Anaheim, CA.

Me and Mae's new track 'To Hell With The Devil' will be going for adds at Canadian Country Radio on December 4th and they plan to release more new music next year. The group will spend most of 2018 on the road across North America and Europe, including a tour stop at the Threshold Music Festival in the UK this April.

With solid 4-part harmonies and unforgettable hook laden music, Me and Mae is a band for fans of the Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town and The Eagles. Be sure to catch them on December 10th at Gabby's Country Cabaret and look for their new single 'To Hell With The Devil' on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services on December 4th. Vancouver Musician JP Maurice Premieres New Video For GO!

JPMaurice_PR.jpg

Watch/Share JP Maurice's - 'GO' Video:

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver musician JP Maurice is excited to announce the release of the video for his latest single 'GO'. The uplifting and playful video was filmed this summer on the streets of East Vancouver under the direction of Johnny Jansen. The premiere of the new video comes on the heels of yesterday's announcement that JP Maurice will be a featured artist on the inaugural season of CTV's new series The Launch which will be airing in the New Year.

'GO' is a track from JP Maurice's cinematic pop-noir EP Girls which was released earlier this year. The EP is  the follow-up to his 2013 full-length album, The Arborist, and continues in the same vein as his previous work with a mix of both dark and light pop gems. The latest single 'GO' is a track that is definitely on the lighter side of things, with its catchy lyrics designed to make you feel like the weight of the world has been lifted from your shoulders.

"2017 has been a pretty dark year for all of us and I wanted to create a video with a positive message that just made you feel good," says JP Maurice. "With the help of director Johnny Jansen and my niece Kumi, who is my amazing dance partner in the video, I think we achieved our goal. The idea behind the song and the video is for people to realize their individual power and to GO and take action! And that can mean whatever it means to you."

JP will be releasing the follow-up to Girls, the full-length album Boys, in early 2018 with plans to tour North America and Europe in support of the new music. More details to be released soon.

Stay tuned for JP Maurice's TV series debut on CTV's The Launch coming this January!

Lovecoast Premiere Brand New Single!

Lovecoast_PRHeader.jpg

STREAM/SHARE Lovecoast - 'Lonely'
Premiere on BeatRoute

Vancouver, BC - Victoria-based indie-soul pop group Lovecoast are excited to announce the release of their brand new single 'Lonely' with the premiere of the lyric video today at BeatRoute Magazine. 'Lonely' is the first single from their debut full-length album, The Trip, which is set for release in early 2018.The new single will officially be released on Friday, November 3rd, just ahead of some local tour dates, including their very first show at The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver opening up for Current Swell on November 4th. See below for full tour schedule.

Since their inception in 2013, Lovecoast has been delivering a new sound that won’t go unnoticed. By bringing together a mix of modern day indie pop and dreamy ’70s R&B grooves, the band has created something bouncy and infectious. Lovecoast finds inspiration in modern acts like The Cat Empire and Lake Street Dive, and classic legends such as Billie Holiday and Bruce Springsteen. The group has been riding a wave of success since the release of their debut EP Chasing Tides in 2014 and they hope to keep the momentum going with the release of The Trip this spring.

"The Trip is our first full-length album and we're really proud of it," says Lovecoast lead singer Danielle Sweeney. "The first single 'Lonely' is a song that we've had for awhile. It's actually one of the first songs we ever wrote. The song's lyrics are based around the themes of loneliness and wanting what you can't have, that gut feeling we've all experienced when we've got our eyes on someone else's prize. Secretly, or not so secretly in this case, we all ask the question, and ‘Lonely’ begs to know what could happen 'if you were lonely'?"

Both Chasing Tides and their upcoming debut LP The Trip were produced by Tom Dobrzanski (Said The Whale, The Zolas) at Monarch Studios in Vancouver. The Chasing Tides EP received much critical acclaim and several film and TV placements around its release. The stand-out track 'The Floor' currently has over 72K streams on Spotify. Lovecoast played at the 10th Anniversary of Rifflandia this year and have played countless other festivals including: JunoFest, ShoreFest, Tall Tree Music Festival, Wapiti Music Festival and Pemberton Music Festival.

Look for Lovecoast - ‘Lonely’ on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services on Friday, November 3rd. For more information and the most up-to-date tour schedule, please visit: www.lovecoastmusic.com

Prairie Songstress Raine Hamilton Releases New Single + Premieres Video!

Raine_PRHeader.png

Watch 'Lift Me Up' Video Premiere on Live In Limbo

(Winnipeg, MB) - Winnipeg singer-songwriter Raine Hamilton is excited to announce the release of 'Lift Me Up', the first single from her upcoming album Night Sky, to be released March 23, 2018. The video for 'Lift Me Up' is premiering today at Live In Limbo ahead of shows in Toronto at Folk Music Ontario this weekend and at Burdock on Tuesday, October 24th. See below for more information.

Not only is Raine an incredible musician but she's also a charming and funny storyteller, pairing her vulnerable tunes with engaging story intros. Raine believes that music is for everyone, and that we all have something to share. Her upcoming sophomore release Night Sky was recorded earlier this year with acclaimed Winnipeg producer Lloyd Peterson, and the music tips between the earthly and the otherworldly and is anchored in relatable lived experience. The first single 'Lift Me Up' reflects this theme.

"In this song, I am singing to my younger self," says Raine. "I'm saying 'You don't know this yet, but it's going to be OK. You are strong. You are beautiful. You are good.' In this song, I surrender my imagined control over life and things, I listen, and I trust."

The video for ‘Lift Me Up’ has an interesting concept and features 3 visual artists: Quintin Bart, Sarah Thiessen, and Callen Froese. Each artist created a companion piece to the song, connecting with its themes or content in some way. The video is made and directed by Winnipeg film maker Julie Epp. Quintin Bart is also the bass player on the Night Sky album, and Raine's long time trio mate (along with cellist Natanielle Felicitas). He was really involved in the arranging of the album and so his visual artistic contribution is a unique one.

"It was an interesting experiment to try find a visual expression of this music, and I knew right away I wanted to focus on light and cosmic themes," says Quintin. "The idea of looking back to our past selves with kindness, compassion, and wisdom made me think of impermanence, destiny, and mysticism, thus the reference vintage tarot card artwork. While filming the time-lapse video with Julie, the light from the setting sun was blasting onto my page, constantly shifting the hue, contrast, and intensity of the image. Impermanence, light, and enlightenment are the main themes here.”

Be sure to catch the Raine Hamilton String Trio in Toronto at the Folk Music Ontario Conference this weekend and at The Burdock on Tuesday, October 24th. Her new album Night Sky will be released on March 23, 2018 and additional tour dates supporting the release of the album will be announced soon. Ché Aimee Dorval's New Full-Length Album Out On December 8th

Che_PRHeader.png

Listen To Exclusive Premiere of 'Buried'

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver singer/songwriter Ché Aimee Dorval is excited to announce the release of her 2nd full-length album and 3rd release, Between The Walls & The Window, on Friday, December 8th. The first single from the album 'Buried' is premiering today at Canadian Beats, click here to listen. Ché has a handful of shows coming up over the next couple of months, including an Album Release Show at The Fox on December 14th. See below for complete tour information.

Ché recorded Between The Walls & The Window in her hometown of Vancouver. For producer, Ché tapped studio veteran Shawn F. Cole (Bend Sinister, Yukon Blonde, You Say Party! We Say Die!), known for his biting pop/rock textures and moody atmospherics. The album includes A-list session players like longtime Neko Case guitarist Paul Rigby, bassist Darren Parris and drummer Daniel Ruiz, to augment Ché’s sensitive, insinuating guitar touch. The result is a shifting, multi-layered sound that brings out the full scope and impact of her compositions.

Ché’s latest songs are by turns harrowing, poignant, teasing and contemplative. She addresses themes of repression ('Buried'), regret ('I Should’ve Worried') and surrender ('Art of Dying') with a bruise-tender touch. Elements of folk, country, soul and industrial rock give the tracks luster and richness. Most of all, Ché’s vocals – caressing one moment, pain-wracked the next – bring the words and music to vivid life. The tracks are filled with her struggles and experiences as a woman, and how it feels to still be fighting for gender equality in 2017.

"The first single Buried was born out of frustration at having to fight the same battles I thought we’d grown past," says Ché. "The same battles I've witnessed my mother going up against my whole life. Even with all the progress we’ve made there’s still a lot of work to be done."

Growing up in Vancouver, BC, Ché honed her skills by playing local club dates and busking around Europe before winning David Foster’s British Columbia Star Search competition in 2007. This led to an appearance at Foster’s yearly charity gala and the chance to write and record in L.A. with hitmakers Greg Wells (Rufus Wainright, Katy Perry) and Kara DioGuardi (Pink, Kelly Clarkson). Rather than go the mainstream pop route, Ché returned to Canada and released her first solo effort, Underachiever in 2008.

In 2009, Ché recorded with Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Project) for his album Ki, laying the groundwork for their teaming up as the dark alt-country duo Casualties of Cool in 2012. As part of Casualties of Cool, Ché has earned a growing international following, touring extensively overseas. Working with Devin inspired Ché to relaunch her solo career. She supported the 2015 release of her EP Volume One with a 12-date UK tour opening for folk artist Kim Churchill.

Ché Aimee Dorval's new album Between The Walls & The Window will be available on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services on Friday, December 8th. For more information and the most up to date tour schedule, please visit:  www.cheaimeedorval.com
