Singer-Songwriter Logan McKillop Announces Release Of New Album On March 29th

Manitoba based folk/roots singer-songwriter Logan McKillop is excited to announce the independent release of his 2nd full-length album Anchorless on March 29th, and today marks the release of the 3rd single 'The Learning Curve' after premiering yesterday at Aesthetic Magazine. Logan will be launching a tour of Western Canada in support of the new album starting on March 23rd in Northern BC, with Eastern Canadian tour dates to follow in May and June (dates to be announced soon). See below for complete Western Canadian tour schedule.

Logan’s sophomore album Anchorless is a collection of songs that display his maturity as an artist. He co-produced the carefully arranged album with fellow musician Scott Nolan, while showcasing an all-star roster of Manitoba musicians. The 10 track album comes to life with the addition of a string section, piano, drums, bass, pedal steel, vibraphone, clarinet, banjo, mandolin, and a whole lot of harmony. Anchorless covers themes such as overcoming loss and addiction, as well as striving for personal growth, and this message comes through loud and clear on his new single ’The Learning Curve’.

"I wrote this song at a time of my life when I was trying to become a better version of myself,” says Logan. "I was coming to terms with the fact that I was making a lot of mistakes and trying to learn from them. This song is ultimately about self forgiveness, growth, and using creativity to overcome hardships."

Equally skilled as a wordsmith and guitarist, Logan is unafraid to delve into what's real, exploring the highs and lows of the human condition with absolute honesty. He's been a full-time touring musician for the last 4 years, and has toured extensively across Canada and Europe. Notable past performances include the Winnipeg Folk Festival, CBC Radio, the BBC, and 4 separate Home Routes house concert tours throughout the Yukon and NWT. He received national praise for his 20 song debut album Prairie Skyreleased in 2013.

Logan's latest single 'The Learning Curve'  follows the release of the album's 1st single 'Days Of My Demise' on February 8th, and the 2nd single 'Mother's Love' on February 22nd.

Anchorless will be available on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes and other digital retailers and streaming services on March 29th. For more information and the most up to date tour listings, please visit: loganmckillop.com

Calgary Indie Rockers The Northern Coast Announce Release Of Debut Album

TNC_PRHeader.jpg

NEW SINGLE 'BLINDSIDE' OUT NOW!

STREAM/SHARE 'BLINDSIDE'
HERE

Calgary-based indie rock group The Northern Coast are excited to announce the release of their debut full-length album The Great Divide on March 22nd. The band's 2nd single 'Blindside'  is available now on all digital platforms, following the exclusive premiere on Spill Magazine last week. The Northern Coast will be touring Western Canada in support of the new record, starting with a hometown release show at Broken City on March 22nd. See below for the complete tour schedule.

The Great Divide is a bit of a break-up album, a melodic journey that describes the rollercoaster of love itself, and the reflection after you step off the ride. The album was written and recorded during a interesting time when both principal songwriters in The Northern Coast (lead vocalist Arron Crook and guitarist Hunter Hansen) and the producer of the album (Josh Rob Gwillam) were all going through the end of long term relationships. The result is 8 songs of cutting, dynamic honesty through storytelling and sonically sharp rhythms.

That end of relationship theme is one that was evident on the band’s first single ’Savage’  (released July 2018) and it’s also a part of the second single ‘Blindside’.

“Our first single ’Savage' really represents the apathy in looking back, and trying to find some understanding," says Arron Crook. "‘Blindside' is less about one particular experience and is kind of a commentary on modern love and its shortcomings. There was a moment in the studio where we were all thinking, 'what are the odds that three humans are working on one of hundreds of albums across the country and are in the same spot in their love lives’, but I mean you see it all around. Maybe it’s just coincidence, maybe it's the moon, ya know? That’s what the album title really means. There seems to be a great divide with people, places, and hearts these days not a lot of cohesion."

The Northern Coast’s sound is inspired by personal tales of dreams, lust, and loss set to the backdrop of the harsh Canadian climate. Since the formation of the group in 2016, they have played a number of shows across Canada including appearances at: NXNE in Toronto, BIG Winter Classic, and Circle Calgary. After releasing their debut EP Revelry in 2017, the band supported Canadian heavyweights The Rural Alberta Advantage for two sold out shows in Vancouver and Calgary, and opened for LA rockers Mt. Joy in Calgary.

The Great Divide will be available on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes and other digital retailers and streaming services on March 22nd. For more information and the most up to date tour schedule, please visit: thenortherncoastband.com

Buckman Coe Releases New Single Ahead Of Upcoming Tour Dates

BC_Endlessly.jpg

NEW ALBUM GATHERING STORM OUT ON FEB 22nd

STREAM/SHARE  'ENDLESSLY'

Vancouver-based roots musician Buckman Coe has a lot on his plate in 2019. He just released  'Endlessly', the 3rd single from his soon to be released new album Gathering Storm (out February 22nd), and he'll be playing an official artist showcase at Folk Alliance International in Montreal on Feb 13th, before kicking off an Album Release Tour throughout BC and Alberta on March 1st. See below for full tour schedule.

Buckman Coe delves deep into some retro psych soul on his latest single 'Endlessly'  with a feature from Portland-based songstress Lynx. Exploring the connection between souls over various lifetimes or pathways, it’s like a sonic and poetic version of the movies Cloud Atlas or Mr. Nobody.

“This song started with the extremely catchy “oooh” section in the chorus and a few delirious late nights jamming after reminiscing and rewatching some of my favourite mind-melting movies about identity, and soul connections over lifetimes," says Buckman Coe.

'Endlessly'  follows the release of Buckman Coe's 2 previous singles from his 6th full-length album   Gathering Storm. Both singles were released late last year - the 1st single and title track, 'Gathering Storm'  was released on September 28th and the 2nd single 'Be Free'  launched on November 30th.

Gathering Storm will be available on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes and other digital retailers and streaming services on February 22nd. For more information and the most up to date tour listings, please visit: buckmancoe.com

Vancouver Pop Artist Jordan Waller Set To Release Debut Album on January 25th

Jordan_PR.jpg

ALBUM RELEASE SHOW ON FEBRUARY 2nd @ VENUE

STREAM/SHARE NEW SINGLE 'MOONLIGHT' HERE

PRE-SAVE MELANCHOLY DREAM HERE

It's not very often that you'll come across an artist that has over 1 million artist streams across Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Google Play, before they've even released their debut album but Vancouver-based pop artist Jordan Waller has achieved this incredible feat. And following the recent launch of his new single 'Moonlight', Jordan Waller is excited to announce the release of his debut album Melancholy Dream on January 25th with the Vancouver Album Release Show on February 2nd at VENUE. See below for complete details.

Jordan Waller's music career began in August 2016, when his debut single 'This Feeling'  was released, landing him a spot on many Canadian contemporary hit radio (CHR) stations with the track peaking at #46 on the Billboard Canada Top 100. Since the release of his debut single, Jordan has released 2 more tracks - 'Let You Down'  in September  2017 and 'Staying Up Late'  in October 2018. And despite all of the success that Jordan's had with his single releases, recording a full-length album wasn't always part of his plan.

"My single 'Let You Down' at the time was just the second song I had ever released and there was no real plan for an album yet," says Jordan Waller. "I knew it was the next step but I didn’t know what it was going to be about or if I really had anything to say. I was honestly pretty terrified because I wasn’t sure if I could create a full length album that felt cohesive or if I would be able to tell a story.  I write songs out of experiences, and the album came together after I went through a really tough relationship and it ended up shaping the whole record."

After the release of Melancholy Dream, Jordan is planning to get out on the road and tour in support of the album. He's been slowly building his fanbase with the help of his energetic live show and has landed some key tour spots, including opening for Toronto-based trio NEW CITY on their Western Canadian tour dates last year.

"Right now the biggest thing for me is getting this album out and playing the show," says Jordan. "After that we'll have more shows coming up, starting in the spring. My biggest goal for 2019 is to get out on tour!"

Melancholy Dream will be available on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes and other digital retailers and streaming services on January 25th. For more information and the most up to date tour schedule, please visit: jordanwallermusic.com

Madeleine Roger Announces CDN Tour Dates in February + March

MRoger3_SamBaardman.jpg

NEW LYRIC VIDEO OUT TODAY
WATCH/SHARE 'THIS WAY FOR ME'
HERE

After spending much of 2018 playing shows across Canada, Winnipeg singer-songwriter Madeleine Roger is getting ready to head back on the road for more Canadian dates, starting in Hamilton on February 9th. The upcoming tour also includes a show at the Folk Alliance International Conference in Montreal, as well as string of Homeroutes house concerts in the Yukon and the Northwest Territories in March. See below for full tour listings.

Madeleine Roger ended 2018 by taking part in VIA Rail's Artists On Board program, and it was while she was travelling on the train across Canada that she filmed the footage for her new 'This Way For Me' lyric video which is out today. 'This Way For Me' is from Madeleine's debut album Cottonwood (released in October 2018) and the lyrics are the perfect match for the stunning Canadian landscape as viewed through a train window.

"When I filmed this footage, the train was 5 hours late but it didn’t matter because the scenery was so stunning, and it meant we got extra daylight hours rolling through the Rockies," says Madeleine. "I wrote 'This Way For Me' from this very same train a couple of years ago, because I just fell in love with the view out the window and the slow rocking of travel by rail.”

Although Cottonwood is her debut album, Madeleine Roger is no stranger to the music business. In fact, she's nearly a veteran at age 27. A lifelong history of singing in choirs, living rooms, musicals, and around bonfires has informed her current comfort on the stage, and the countless hours hanging out in the control room of her dad's (producer/engineer Lloyd Peterson) recording studios provided a wealth of knowledge over the years. In 2016, Madeleine formed Roger Roger with her twin brother Lucas and released their debut album Fairweather locally and overseas which reached the No. 1 spot on the Canadian national folk/roots/blues charts, garnering acclaim for its exceptional songwriting.

Madeleine also received critical praise for her album Cottonwood upon its release late last year, including an 8/10 review from Exclaim Magazine. And the album's standout single '60 Years More', a powerful song about what it feels like to be a woman right now and how far we still have to go in the fight for gender equality, garnered plenty of buzz due to the subject matter and striking lyrics.

Cottonwood is available now on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services. For more information and the most up to date tour listings, please visit: madeleineroger.com
