Travis Release New Album 'Where You Stand' & Play Show In Toronto on September 25th

For Immediate Release:
August 27, 2013

WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR CURRENT SINGLE 'MOVING'

(Toronto, ON) - Travis, one of the UK’s best known bands, return after a five year hiatus with an impressive new album 'Where You Stand', out last week (August 20th) on their own re-launched label Red Telephone Box via Kobalt Label Services.

After an incredible sixteen-year run that includes two number one albums, three Brit awards, five Top 10 singles, 12 Top 20 singles, and countless sold-out shows around the world, the band decided it was time to take a well-deserved break.

“It’s a lovely life,” reflects bassist Dougie Payne, “but when you do it relentlessly, there’s a point when it snaps you. We decided to take a break to spend time with our families. You stay away as long as it takes” he says of the well-judged fallow period “so you feel that hunger and desire to get back to it same as you did at the start.”

Sounding more invigorated than ever, the multi-million-selling Scottish quartet have delivered a stunning new album full of the cinematic pop and instantly anthemic songs that first caught the attention of critics and music fans on their breakthrough album 'The Man Who'.

'Where You Stand' is the sound of a rejuvenated band fearlessly delivering an album that embodies the spirit of their early years. From the album’s opener “Mother,” a bracing rush of harmonic pop with chiming piano, to the nu-wave of “Moving,” the soulful “Warning Sign,” and the cinematic piano ballad “The Big Screen,” 'Where You Stand' captures the urgency and fresh songwriting of four talented musicians.
Written and recorded across London, Norway, New York and Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios, 'Where You Stand' was produced by Michael Ilbert on the same sound desk used on both'The Man Who' and Radiohead’s 'Ok Computer.'

For a group as close-knit as Travis, none of the sales, awards and adulation earned would be worth it if they weren’t still together, let alone in an infinitely stronger, happier place.

“When you’re in a band, you’re in a band forever – its a life thing,” reasons lead singer Fran Healy. “For me it’s family.”

Travis have spent the summer playing festival dates in the UK & Europe including,  T In The Park and the V Festival (UK).  Their North American headlining tour begins September 19th in Philadelphia and includes a Canadian date in Toronto on September 25th at Sound Academy. The Bros. Landreth Will Release Their Debut Album 'Let It Lie' On September 3rd

For Immediate Release:
July 25, 2013

(Winnipeg, MB) - Winnipeg musicians Joey and David Landreth have spent the last decade supporting some of Canada’s most talented artists, developing a reputation for their exceptional musicianship. They’ve played with everyone from Doc Walker to Imaginary Cities and now they are finally taking the plunge into a project that is uniquely their own, The Bros. Landreth. The band will be releasing their debut album ‘Let it Lie’ on September 3rd with the Album Release Show to follow on September 5th at the West End Cultural Centre (WECC) in Winnipeg.

‘Let it Lie’ was recorded through the dead of winter in Southern Manitoba with the guidance of friend and producer Murray Pulver (Doc Walker, Tara Oram, Crash Test Dummies). Their studio time happened to land them directly in the middle of the coldest week in January with the temperature hovering below -30C. The heat in the loaned van died on the trip out to the country and they had to borrow a heat gun to defrost a pie shaped circle in the windshield. Despite all of this, The Bros. Landreth are still fiercely proud to call Winnipeg their home.

“We’re at the epicenter of this great artistic hub, smack dab in the middle of the coldest place in the known universe,” David playfully exaggerates. “We have to write and play just to stay warm half the year. It becomes a creative incubator – a survival technique.”

Watch The Making Of The Bros. Landreth - ‘Let It Lie’

With their debut album ‘Let It Lie’ The Bros. Landreth leave the esoteric behind in favor of delivering stories simply, never letting their road-proven musicality stand in the way of the songs speaking for themselves. It begins with the upbeat “Our Love”, which tells the story of a relationship at the end of it’s rope. “Runaway Train” features their musician father, Wally Landreth, sharing vocal duties and the guitar driven “Goin’ To the Country” is an opportunity to hear the band dig in. French horn sneaks in beautifully unexpected on the heartbreaking “Greenhouse” - a song tackling the fallout of a tragic suicide. “Nothing” is the truest love song of the bunch and features a lonesome cowboy harmonica solo that will raise the hackles on the back of your neck and make you check your boots for snakes.

Listen To The Bros. Landreth -  “Our Love”

Look for The Bros. Landreth’s debut album ‘Let It Lie’ available for purchase at iTunes, Bandcamp & other fine digital retailers on September 3rd and don’t miss out on your chance to see them live in Winnipeg for the Album Release Party on September 5th! The Bros. Landreth will hit the road in support of the album in late September/early October and the tour dates will be announced soon. The Proclaimers To Tour Canada In August In Support Of Their 9th Studio Album

For Immediate Release:
July 18, 2013

(Toronto, ON) - Identical twins Craig and Charlie Reid, aka The Proclaimers are set to return to Canada this August for a string of tour dates in support of their 9th studio album ‘Like Comedy’. The new album was released in North America on April 9th through 429 Records/Universal and is the follow-up to their acclaimed 2009 release ‘Notes & Rhymes’. ‘Like Comedy’ finds the boys back in fine form, having already garnered rave reviews in the UK and Europe upon its release in 2012.

The Proclaimers’
Canadian Tour begins in Toronto at the Canadian National Exhibition on August 16th and wraps up on August 28th in Vancouver at the Pacific National Exhibition.

Strikingly individual, twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid have, over the years, enjoyed huge success around the globe as the emotional honesty, political fire, wit and sing-along raucousness of their songs and their extensive touring has enlightened and entertained fans new and old. The Proclaimers have carved out a niche for themselves in the netherworld where pop, folk, new wave and punk collide. In the process they have sold more than seven million albums and enjoyed Gold and Platinum singles and albums in UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The last couple of years have been busy ones for The Proclaimers. The band toured the UK and Europe extensively in support of ‘Like Comedy’.  In April 2013, to coincide with the North American release of the album on April 9, the boys set out on a successful three week USA acoustic tour. After that, they headed back in the UK where they headlined The Acoustic Festival of Britain in May before joining up with their live band for a host of UK festivals and concerts over the summer including their fifth Glastonbury appearance, Cornbury, T In The Park and Camp Bestival.

On July 1st, 2013, The Proclaimers released a thirty track compilation (in the UK and Europe) selected by Craig and Charlie, ‘The Very Best of The Proclaimers (25 Years 1987 to 2012)’ (EMI). The album will be available in North America later this year. October 2013 will see the UK release of the movie version of the hugely successful award winning UK musical drama 'Sunshine On Leith', based around songs by The Proclaimers.  Screenplay written by Stephen Greenhorn, directed by Dexter Fletcher, produced by  Andrew Macdonald (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Heartlands, The Last King Of Scotland, 28 Weeks Later, Sunshine, Never Let Me Go, Dredd 3D) of DNA Films & Black Camel Pictures.

With nearly three decades of career longevity, The Proclaimers have reached the rarefied status that few have been able to achieve: they are as innovative as ever and with every album and show played, they’ve continued to garner new fans. Don’t miss out on your chance to see them live this August as they tour across Canada!

THE PROCLAIMERS CANADIAN TOUR DATES:
