Sarah Brightman Kicks Off "Out Of This World" North American Tour

For Immediate Release:
September 19, 2013

NEW GLOSOLI PERFORMANCE VIDEO & REMIX TO BE RELEASED!

(Toronto, ON) -  Sarah Brightman has kicked off her North American 33-city fall tour in support of her new #1 album, Dreamchaser. The Toronto Sun has hailed her return to the concert stage with a show that is "out of this world." Examiner.com stated that Brightman "can command an entire arena's attention" with her "incredibly beautiful, bell-clear voice…truly one of the better singers in the world, holding court in a group that includes the late Whitney Houston, and Barbra Streisand." Upcoming concerts include NYC's Radio City Music Hall (9/21), Vancouver's Rogers Arena (10/25) and more (see schedule below).

In support of these dates and her latest release, Brightman has a brand-new performance video for her song "Glosoli." The astounding rendition of Sigur Rós' track, featuring new English lyrics by Chris Difford (Squeeze), will be accompanied later this month by the release of a club remix, in keeping with Brightman's history of crossover dance remix hits. Watch the new "Glosoli" performance video here: http://youtu.be/YhcPGz9-B98

The tour, video, and remix follow the spectacular reception to Brightman's most recent PBS special, "Dreamchaser: In Concert," which aired nationwide this summer. That program will be released on DVD later this year. Watch a trailer here: http://youtu.be/Otk8Ct77Yjw

2013 has seen Brightman reigniting her ardent fan base as well as introducing new followers to the fold. In turn, a current contest on Tumblr asks fans to "remix" footage from Brightman's "Angel" and "One Day Like This" videos into original photos and GIF. The contest runs through September 21st and you can see a mosaic of the entries so far here:http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/sarah10day

Vancouver Singer/Songwriter Daniel Moir Releases 3rd Album 'Monday Morning' On October 1st

For Immediate Release:
September 18, 2013

(Vancouver, BC ) - Vancouver based singer/songwriter Daniel Moir will independently release his 3rd album'Monday Morning' on Tuesday, October 1st. The Album Release Party for 'Monday Morning' will take place on Thursday, October 3rd at The Railway Club (579 Dunsmuir St.) in Vancouver, kicking off a short tour stint through BC, Alberta & Washington. See the full listing of tour dates below.

At just 23 years of age, it's hard to believe that Daniel Moir has already created 3 full albums worth of material. His last album, 'Road', was compared to Eddie Vedder, Rufus Wainwright and even The Beatles with Discorder Magazine calling it an “alternative folk trip that takes the listener on a quasi-cinematic journey through the great Canadian landscape." 'Road' was produced by Juno-winning producer Russell Broom (Jann Arden, Sam Roberts) and co-engineered by David Kean (Bjork, Audities Foundation).

With his new album 'Monday Morning', Moir decided to take on a more singular vision. Not only did he do all of the writing and arranging of the music but he also took on the producing, mixing and engineering duties. On top of that, he performed most of the music and instrumentation that is heard on the record. Why did he take on all of this on himself? Well, the answer is quite simple.

"I've always wanted to be a producer,” explains Moir. “It was just a matter of investing the time and money to really learn how to do it. I feel more comfortable having creative control over the recording process."

Daniel Moir has often been called a Canadian Troubadour as he draws much of his inspiration from the Canadian landscape and has toured extensively in both Canada and the United States.  He's played at numerous festivals, toured as an opener with artists like Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath) and also opened locally for artists like Kathleen Edwards and Willis Earl Beal. Moir is a gifted instrumentalist with an honest talent for songwriting, his music is sparked by personal insight, life experience and eco-activism (a dollar from every copy of 'Monday Morning' sold will be donated to Ecojustice). His songs have seen chart positions at college radio and placements on TV, with his song "Change the World" (from his debut album 'Country & The Sea' ) appearing in the season finale of the hit NBC TV series 'Mercy'.

Be sure to check out Daniel Moir's new album 'Monday Morning' when it's released on Tuesday, October 1st and look for him on tour starting in Vancouver at The Railway Club on October 3rd. For more information and the most up-to-date tour schedule, visit: www.danielmoir.com

"His singable melodies are catchy and prove Moir’s worth as a seasoned songwriter" - SEE magazine

"He has the self-assured sound of an artist who's already perfectly at home in his own skin" - Grant Stovel, CKUA Radio

WiL Releases New Album 'Live at The Ironwood' on October 8th

For Immediate Release:
September 13th, 2013

(Vancouver, BC) - Vancouver-Island singer/songwriter WiL is releasing his first live album 'Live at The Ironwood' on October 8th and to celebrate its release he'll be kicking off a Tour of Western Canada with 2 shows at the Breakout West Festival in Calgary, starting at the venue where he recorded the album on October 4th.

WiL is well known across Canada for his incredible live performances, so it's actually quite surprising that he hasn't released a live album before. When the opportunity came for him to record a live album full of fan favourites at the much-loved Calgary venue, The Ironwood, he had his reservations.

“The idea had always seemed risky”, WiL says. “It’s one thing to go to a live show and take it all in and quite another to have those songs come off well on a live audio recording. I mean, it’s really just me and my drummer (for the most part) plus how can our sound and dynamic, that cumulative vibe and experience within the room be captured on disc? But recording engineer Josh Gwilliam (Pilot Audio) whom I’d worked with on a prior studio album convinced me to let him try. After hearing the mixes I asked my manager to take on the project with him - after all, she has seen thousands of my shows so if anyone knew how it would need to be presented and thus represent me, it was her.”

'Live At The Ironwood' is WiL's first album for Victoria-based record label Cordova Bay Entertainment. Label Manager, Jocelyn Greenwood says that "Having been fans of his songwriting and amazing live performance for years we are really looking forward to working with him on releasing ‘Live at The Ironwood’ on October 8th. We are also very pleased to be working with him again for a full album of brand new material due out in 2014."

It's been 2 years since WiL released his critically acclaimed 4th album 'Heart of Mine' but he certainly hasn't been resting on his laurels. WiL has been keeping himself busy in his studio on Vancouver Island (aptly called 'Box In The Woods'), writing and composing music for film and television. In 2011, WiL’s original song ‘Roam’ was chosen to represent Travel Alberta’s award winning ad campaign 'Remember to Breathe'.  Shortly afterward he was commissioned by the internationally recognized Calgary Stampede to compose their 100th Anniversary theme song, Ride. The flagship video 'Alberta' (feat. Roam) from the Travel Alberta campaign won the Diamond Award for Best Overall Entry at ITB Berlin 2012 (considered the OSCARS of International Travel and Tourism Industry) and 3 ITB awards in 2013 including Gold for the video ‘Summer’ featuring the brand new song 'There Is'.

Don't miss out on your chance to see WIL live across Western Canada as he tours in support of 'Live at The Ironwood' out on October 8th through Cordova Bay/Fontana North. For the most up-to-date tour schedule, please visit: ibreakstrings.com

Yukon Rockers Speed Control Release New Album 'F.A.B.' on October 1st

For Immediate Release:
September 12th, 2013

TOUR DATES IN WESTERN CANADA STARTING ON OCTOBER 3rd,
INCLUDES BREAKOUT WEST SHOWCASE DATES!
Watch Speed Control - 'Because I Can' Video

(Vancouver, BC) - It's not everyday that you hear about a band that hails from The Yukon - but today is THAT DAY. Straight out of -40 degrees in Whitehorse, the power trio Speed Control are getting set to independently release their 2nd album 'F.A.B.' on October 1st and will kick off a string of Western Canadian Tour Dates starting on October 3rd in Cranbrook, BC. The tour also includes 2 showcase dates in Calgary for Breakout West! Speed Control will showcase at Dickens Pub on October 4th and The Palamino on October 5th.

Speed Control, made up of brothers Graeme (guitar/vox) and Jody Peters (bass/vox), and drummer Ian March, is known for their live show and their passion for playing hard and fast! All 3 members come from a jazz and classical music background but they're now all focused on their true passion – ROCK. Speed Control's music has been described as a combination of pop punk, math rock and high-energy rock 'n roll fused with the incredible intensity of their live show. Their new album 'F.A.B.' was produced by David J. Taylor (Despistado, Geoff Berner) and upon seeing Speed Control play for the first time, Taylor was amazed by the energy of the band.

“It was like seeing the Police before they broke in ’77," said Taylor.  "A band with this much drive is unstoppable!”

Often called the hardest working band in the Yukon, Speed Control is not only a hard-hitting rock trio. They have also dedicated themselves to furthering music education in Canada and bringing music back into lives of kids nationwide. In the summertime, between club and festival shows, Speed Control teach “RAWK Camps” which are partnered with Yamaha Canada, giving the kids brand new instruments to play and equipment to run the camps. This allows Speed Control to visit many remote communities, some of which do not have a music store. Singer Graeme Peters describes the camps as "a miniature version of Jack Black's School of Rock...but better."

"Obviously our RAWK Camps are better because there's 3 of us," explains Graeme. "It's a great experience! We teach them instruments throughout the week or three days, however long we're there. And we have a big rock concert at the end.”

Speed Control will be playing dates live across Western Canada this fall and look for their new album 'F.A.B.' out on Tuesday, October 1st. The album will be available for purchase on iTunes and other fine digital retailers. More tour dates in November & December will be announced soon. Pet Shop Boys Release New Single & Play 4 Dates In Canada

For Immediate Release:
September 5, 2013

Listen To New Pet Shop Boys Single 'Love Is a Bourgeois Construct' (Claptone Vocal Remix)

(Toronto, ON) - Pet Shop Boys released their new single 'Love Is a Bourgeois Construct' in Canada & the US this week just ahead of the start of their North American Tour on September 12 in Miami. This is the 2nd single from the British duo's new album 'Electric' (produced by Stuart Price) which was released on July 15th through their own label x2 (via Kobalt Label Services). The group’s first single off the album, 'Vocal,' is currently at number three on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart.

'Electric' features nine tracks in total - eight brand new Pet Shop Boys' songs plus a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'The Last To Die'.  The result is as uncompromising a collection of dance anthems as Pet Shop Boys have ever made. Pet Shop Boys have also released a 'Love is a Bourgeois Construct' remix EP featuring five new full-length remixes of the track by the likes of Dave Aude, Little Boots, the Penelopes and Claptone.

Pet Shop Boys said: "'Electric' is very much set on the dance floor.  Our latest album often evolves as a response to our previous album and, whereas 'Elysium' had a reflective mood, 'Electric' is pretty banging! And working with Stuart Price on a studio album is something we have wanted to do for a very long time".

Stuart Price said: "Making 'Electric' was an exciting experience. We recorded it between Berlin, London and Los Angeles using various techniques between old school synth and drum machine programming and new school computer mangling. For me it was a chance to work with two people who shaped so much of my musical taste, yet who keep on pushing farther in both a natural and unexpected fashion. 'Disco' (from 1986) was an album that always spoke to me because it blended song arrangements with dance floor mixes, and that is what 'Electric' felt like to make. Allowing songs to be full length without considering the pop rules, disregarding classic structures and instead just working instinctively on what was fun and danceable."

The track listing for 'Electric' is:

1. Axis
2. Bolshy
3. Love is a bourgeois construct
4. Fluorescent
5. Inside a dream
6. The last to die
7. Shouting in the evening
8. Thursday (featuring Example)
9. Vocal

Pet Shop Boys will embark on the 'Electric' North American Tour on September 12th in Miami and it includes 4 Canadian dates in Montreal, Toronto, Windsor and Vancouver. The tour is created in collaboration with Es Devlin (creative director/designer) and Lynne Page (stage director/choreographer), and has already received rave reviews when it debuted in Mexico earlier this year.
