Montreal-based indie rock project Hey Gorgeous shares the new single and video “Rocker on a Club Run,” a restless, late-night anthem exploring the space between alternative rock and house music culture. Out now on all streaming platforms, the track is the latest single from their forthcoming debut album International Breakthroughs, due out June 22.
Led by multidisciplinary artist Peet Massé, Hey Gorgeous has spent the last three years steadily releasing singles while Massé simultaneously completed a master’s degree in the arts. With International Breakthroughs, the project arrives fully formed – blending raw indie rock energy with electronic textures and deeply introspective songwriting inspired by movement, self-discovery, and the search for meaning beyond both physical and psychological borders.
Written as the “party song” of the album, “Rocker on a Club Run” intentionally blurs the lines between rock and house music, digital and analog production, and the contrasting subcultures that inspired the track’s narrative.
“The video follows a fictional version of me over the course of a restless 24-hour binge – a reflective odyssey through Montreal’s bars, nightclubs, and art galleries,” explains Massé. “Caught between two loves I perceive as culturally opposed – alt rock and house – I drift through their respective crowds in search of a fragile point of convergence. Can I win this inner battle, reconcile these two spaces within myself, and finally find peace? This is serious business.”
Shot in Montreal during the summer of 2025, the “Rocker on a Club Run” video follows Massé through a surreal and emotionally charged night out, moving between bars, dance floors, and gallery spaces while exploring themes of identity, belonging, and artistic connection. Directed and photographed by Stephanie-Anne Weber-Biron, the video was written and produced by Massé and features appearances from artist collaborators, friends, and a large cast of extras from Montreal’s creative community.
The production also highlights several iconic Montreal spaces, including La Casa Del Popolo, Le Système, and l'UQÀM University's CDEx art gallery, each serving as visual anchors within the video’s restless search for convergence between music scenes, artistic disciplines, and personal identity.
Inspired by the spirit of travel, International Breakthroughs moves lyrically between external landscapes and the inner worlds we carry with us. Across the album, Hey Gorgeous embraces grit, rawness, and experimentation, documenting a journey toward creative freedom through leaving home, embracing uncertainty, and searching for connection beyond familiar boundaries.
